About this event

Looking forwards: working together to formulate the next steps in pain and fatigue research

A public engagement event to shape future directions in pain and fatigue research at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS). This event is free to attend and open to interested members of the public and professionals in the field.

Researchers at BSMS have been exploring biological mechanisms of chronic pain and fatigue, particularly as the relate to fibromyalgia, ME/CFS and long COVID.

The purpose of this event is to bring researchers in this area together with patients and interested members of the public to reflect on the results of previous work and to consider how best to take this forward in partnership.

We are particularly interested in thinking about priorities for next steps in this field, including a possible trial of low dose naltrexone.

This will be an in-person event that will be video recorded. The streams will be made publicly available after the event. There will be the opportunity to submit questions for discussion in advance.

For examples of the type of work already undertaken please watch this video with Dr Jessica Eccles and view recent research here >
