We are honoured to welcome Professor Lorimer Moseley back to London. Lorimer draws on over 25 years of clinical pain research and practice to lead you on a journey through the conceptual underpinnings of modern pain rehabilitation, cutting edge pain-related cognitive and clinical neuroscience, critical pain-related thinking, clinical reasoning and treatment principles. 

The first part of the course focuses on translating the substantial developments in modern pain science into clinically-friendly language and bite-size concepts. The second part focuses on modern understanding of how we can get people to reconceptualise their pain, introducing participants to the conceptual change pathway, from metaphors and stories to biological concepts and functional and management implications.

It will be intense, but it will also be fun and clinically applicable.

Lorimer Moseley 

We are proud to have Lorimer back in London

Professor Lorimer Moseley is a clinical scientist investigating pain in humans. After posts at The University of Oxford, UK, and the University of Sydney, Lorimer was appointed Foundation Professor of Neuroscience and Chair in Physiotherapy, The Sansom Institute for Health Research at the University of South Australia. He is also Senior Principal Research Fellow at NeuRA and an NHMRC Principal Research Fellow.

He has published over 280 articles, five books and numerous book chapters. He has given over 140 keynote or invited presentations at interdisciplinary meetings in 30 countries and has provided professional education in pain sciences to over 15,000 medical and health practitioners and public lectures to 35,000. His research group outreach videos and articles have attracted over 3.5 million views/reads.

There are no pre-requisites for this course but if you want to do a bit of reading beforehand, the course is based on the Explain Pain resources - available from www.noiukshop.com

Audience

The course is aimed at all health professionals working with people in pain.

Day 2: 09.00 – 16.30 Course

Tea breaks are at 10.30 and 15.00. Lunch is at 12.30 on both days
