About this event
About this event
In this evening of experiential creative play, you will enjoy time and space to reconnect to, and re-create, a favourite source of security from your childhood - and tap into its wisdom and powerful healing ability.
Experiences from our childhood are often at the core of our adult struggles and challenges: this fun, artsy session is a lovely gentle way to reconnect to our favourite childhood companions.
We will also have time to reflect on our re-creations - and explore any insights that have arisen - in small groups: please kindly note, there is no expectation on you to share. This is completely optional.
“Lost and Found: creatively reconnecting to our favourite childhood toys” is open to everyone - all you need is a willingness to play! Please bring with you simple tools such as paper, colouring pens or crayons, paints, colouring pencils, plasticine, clay - whatever you have to hand (and like working with) is perfect.
Taking part in creative arts is a gentle, fun way to help improve your wellbeing, gifting you a way to express yourself without needing to find the right words. Creative arts is also a wonderful way to help lift loneliness and feelings of isolation: this playshop is being offered via Zoom, online, to help those who may be housebound, or find it difficult or uncomfortable to attend in-person events.
About your facilitator
This session will be delivered by Createavity Studio’s creative arts facilitator and therapist, Callie Di Nello, who is passionate about helping people reconnect to their resilient, brilliant true self through therapeutic creative play. She is on a mission-of-permission to help people discover the healing power of play, and reconnect to their true colours.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How can I attend if its an online session?
We will use Zoom, a popular video conferencing platform which is free to download and use with a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
- What materials do I need?
A quiet space to enjoy the visualisation, and some paper and pens/pencils/crayons, paints, plasticine, clay - any materials you have to hand and like to work with!
- How often do you run these online workshops?
They are (usually) offered on the 3rd Thursday evening of each month, from 7.30-9pm. Callie also offers occasional lunchtime creative play sessions.
- Do you record these sessions?
No. Due to the deeply personal experiences that may be shared online, I have chosen not to record the creative playshops. You will need to make sure you can attend this session live, before booking.
- Do I need to keep my webcam on?
Preferably, yes, as it will help you to feel part of the whole experience - and will help to put other people at ease in the group, too.
