Loughborough Students RFC City Lunch - Adam Jones, George Chuter and Graham...
Fri 5 May 2017, 12:00 – 17:00 BST
Loughborough Students RFC is excited to announce that Adam Jones and Graham Rowntree will be our guest speakers at the forthcoming City Lunch Fundraiser on Friday 5th May 2017 from 12:00 at Brasserie Blanc, Southbank (London).
Adam Jones, or 'Jonesy' as he is affectionately known - needs no introduction following his illustrious career spanning over 17 years and still counting! He is arguably one of the best props to have graced the game of rugby starting his career at Neath, followed by Ospreys, Cardiff Blues and Harlequins where he is still playing. His international career spans over 11 years making just under 100 appearances for Wales which resulted in two Lions tours to South Africa and Australia in 2009 and 2015 respectively.
This is an amazing opportunity to enjoy lunch in the company of ‘Jonesy’ and Graham Rowntree amongst other celebrity guests, to discuss the recent Six Nations campaign following Eddie Jones and England's attempt to win back to back Grand Slams. We also have reason to believe he will discuss his beloved Wales, dependant on tournament success! After which all attention will be on the British and Irish Lions - so who better to have lunch with?
As if this wasn't enough, we also welcome Former English Rugby Union player and Leicester Tigers legend, Graham Rowntree. Graham played at Loosehead Prop for both teams and went on to have an illustrious career enjoying success at both domestic and international levels. Graham’s vast experience as an elite athlete and as part of a coaching team make him one of the most sought after rugby speakers on the after dinner circuit. He retired from rugby in 2007 after 17 years playing the game, and he joined the Tigers coaching team where he made a rapid rise up the coaching ranks, becoming the Forwards/Scrum coach for the English national team ahead of the 2008 Six Nations Championship. He toured South Africa with the British and Irish Lions acting as Scrum coach, then being named Forwards coach for the winning test series in 2013.
More generally, these lunches offer a wonderful excuse for like minded people to come together for a fabulous afternoon and at just £90 (with VAT on top) per ticket the lunch represents incredible value for money; offering table sizes to suit, an unlimited cocktail hour, three course meal followed by Q&A with Adam, Graham and our very own George Chuter (Loughborough Students RFC Assistant Coach).
Ahead of the lunch we are always on the lookout for items that we can include in the Main and Silent Auctions; holidays, villas, 'money can't buy' experiences, spa days, weekend getaways etc. If you can help us with the fundraising aspect of these events in anyway - no matter how small - it would be very much appreciated.
Proceeds for the event will be re-invested back to Loughborough Students RFC and with the low £90 ticket price only just covering the cost of the event, all revenue received on the day from the Heads & Tails, the Raffle, Main Auction & Silent Auctions will ultimately determine the success of the event as a fundraiser.
We very much hope you will be able to join us on Friday 5th May 2017 at Brasserie Blanc, Southbank for lunch with 'Jonesy', Graham Rowntree and of course George Chuter as MC - some front row combination! We also welcome other celebrity guests, to be announced soon.
Tickets have been issued with VAT, this is a result of event organisers providing Loughborough Students Rugby Club with a range of services in relation to the event strategy, management and logistics.
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon - you won't be disappointed! Book now to avoid disappointment.
