Who is it for?

Open to all ages and abilities - under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.

The event is open to anyone, but since the funding for this event was specifically for Horfield Ward, we will be asking each participant to share their post code with us so that we can report back to the funder.

Everyone who runs on the day will receive a medal for taking part!

Those who are primary school aged can run the 1K route.

What does it cost to join in?

Nothing - it's free! but please sign up before you come along. Once you've got your ticket, you will receive a barcode to register on the day.

How fast do I have to be?

The clue is in the name - this is meant to be fun and so everyone is taking part for their enjoyment. Please come along and join in whatever your pace!

Can anyone come and watch?

Spectators are welcome, but please keep clear of runners on the course, and look after any children you may have with you. Dogs are not permitted on site.

What should I bring?

Please make sure you are wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for running on a grass field. You should also bring confirmation of your registration (either printed or on a mobile). Lastly, you might wish to bring a bottle of water, although we plan to have some refreshments available for runners too!

About the course

The course will be about 5k long and will be entirely run on a grass field. Those who are primary school aged can run the 1K route. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud and puddles after rain, so please take care. Dependent on availability, volunteer stewards will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Course Safety

The Love Horfield Community Fun Run is a fun, free event organised by volunteers for the benefit of everyone. We wish to make the event as safe as possible, so participants, spectators and helpers are asked to take care about the following:

Please ensure that you are fit enough to walk, jog, run 5k (3.1 miles) with us. Participation is entirely at your own risk and it is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit and able to take part in the event.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied (within arm's reach) before, during and after the run by a parent, guardian or appropriate adult of the parent's choice.
Remember to warm up before the run. We will be holding a group warm up before the run - so arrive on time to join in!
When running, take care on uneven surfaces. The course is entirely on a grass field. Watch out for other runners and other obstacles around the course.
If you see a runner with a serious problem, please stop to help them out and get help as soon as possible. There will be a first aider present at the event.
It is not permitted to run with a pushchair or a dog.
While there is a car park available, please arrive by foot, by pedal-power or by public transport if you can.
Take care when you arrive and walk through the car park - some vehicles drive very quickly. Please congregate away from the cars and be careful in particular if you have children. If you’re driving to the run, please drive carefully even if you’re late!
There will be a photographer taking photographs of the event which may be shared in future publicity and with the press. By registering, you agree for your photograph to be used. However, if you would like to opt out please speak to the photographer. You can also contact us to remove an image after the event.
Please be considerate of others using the school site at all times.
