About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 30 minutes

Wednesday 25 June at Mascara Bar, Stoke Newington

Readings, performances, theory, poems, for the launch of Issue 10 of our ODRADEK! newsletter.

This will also be the launch of our new in-print ODRADEK! newsletter. These are physical, in-print, collage-style newsletters. As we can't afford printing on mass each newsletter will be a small limited edition run of 25 copies published every two weeks. If you're intreseted in collecting a copy we will have some on sale on the night (£5).

The theme of issue 10 is 'LOVE OBJECT!' and invites responses and objections to the psychoanalytic concept of the love-object.

What is a love object?
"If love at its highest point is this radical threat to the boundary of the ego, its object must be more than a vessel for a fantasy, more than an oedipalized entity."

This edition explores the love object as fetish, absence, narcissism, asymptote — through writing that moves between essay, fragment, poems and theory.

Come for:
– Performances from Noah Lee Swann, Phoebe Eccles, Lu Rose Cunningham, Nathan Lusty, and others
– A chance to pick up the new physical newsletters (Issue 10, Vol. 1 & 2) featuring the writing of Phoebe Eccles, Keely Shinners, Noah Lee Swann and Nathan Lusty.
