About this event

It’s all about L for love as we meet an Angell rather than Cupid and hear about Lillie Langtry, mistress or urban myth? Two showbiz couples sum up very different marriages til death do us part. Learn how a man who said he would be a better husband to his country changed the world and made his wife an icon of Africa. We’ll explore the love of community, art, education and nature with some tucked away treasures.

We’ll look at the different kinds of love and the dark that helps its light shine brighter. You might even change your views on a fairy tale wedding! We’ll celebrate black joy and the love that drives family to honour their dead no matter who it challenges. Soundtracked by love songs and beloved musical icons, meet a pioneer of love and sexuality in LGBTQ+ History Month. Love is the greatest human emotion and we’ll conclude with perhaps the most loved man of the last century.

Meet at the David Bowie mural on Tunstall Road opposite Brixton Road for an 11am start. Our step free walk will take around 90 minutes and conclude near Loughborough Junction station.
