Love That Lava LIVE
Fri 4 March 2016, 18:00 – 19:00 GMT
This event mixing sonic arts and installation opens up a derelict central site for a special performance by a new trio: LOVE THAT LAVA. Made up of South Korean vocalist and performer Una Lee with the Lisbon improvisors Ricardo Jacinto on cello and Nuno Morão on drums, they will be performing a piece responding to the building’s past uses and current state including lyrics based on a recollection of local stories. Within a dramatic backdrop of reflected and refracted light, highlighting the space’s cathedral-like qualities, we invite you to step into the surreal and hypnotic musical world of Love That Lava.
Una Lee is mostly a sound artist, composer, improvisor and performer. At times, she’s a filmmaker, writer, curator and graphic designer. Currently, she’s based at Sonic Arts Research Centre at Queen’s University Belfast.
Ricardo is an artist and musician mainly focused on the relation of sound and space. His site specific solo cello improvisations explore a direct interaction with architecture, dialoguing with the acoustic space and soundscape.
Nuno Morão is a musician, composer and sound designer, and also a sound recordist, mixer, editor and director. He plays mostly drums and percussion, and also enjoys walking, field recording, and trainspotting.
