How to tell your business story - by Steve Ireland & Phil Crowshow of The Geeky Group

Great stories happen to those who can tell them - Ira Glass

 This seminar will reveal

  • How science proves that stories are an essential strategic tool for business growth
  • That stories were the very first form of social media – and are the bedrock of today’s digital world
  • How every individual and every business has a story – you don’t need to be J.K. Rowling.

Over the past decade, Phil Crowshaw and Steve Ireland of The Geeky Group, have collected and recorded interviews with multi-millionaire entrepreneurs, telling their own stories of struggles, setbacks – and success.

They have also interviewed ordinary business owners who are achieving extraordinary things. They will share some of these with you and show what happens to people’s brains when engaged by an effective story – and the benefits to your business.

You will learn how to shape a story, and how to tell it – face-to-face or online. It’s fully interactive, so have fun and learn at the same time.

Phil Crowshaw: Phil is a marketing man through and through.

Phil founded ‘The Business Experts Group’, which grew into ‘The Geeky Group,’ following a corporate career which culminated in heading up communications for the Thomas Cook travel company.

He flew the corporate nest to chart his own path, setting up the world’s first online business channel ‘Experts Online.’ He’s a published author of the business growth book ‘How to Make Your Business Work for You’ and also founded the first multi-media magazine linked to Twitter – ‘Tweeting Times.’

Steve Ireland: an award-winning broadcaster who started his career at BBC Radio Blackburn (now Radio Lancashire) before moving into television where he was first an on-screen reporter, before moving ‘behind the camera’ to produce ‘North West Tonight.’

He became Head of the BBC North-West region, responsible for four radio stations and all regional television.

Steve was invited to join Tyne Tees Television in Newcastle, then moving to become Director of Programmes at satellite channel UK Gold and then joining the American giant, Viacom as Senior Vice President of Programmes for the Showtime Network, more than 30 channels beaminginto the Middle East and North Africa.

Steve says: “The importance of the story cannot be underestimated – in our lives, our careers and especially in business.”
