About this event
We are delighted to announce that Aidan Monks and Catherine Connor, founders of Lovingly Artisan, will be joining us at the Bounceback Food Community Kitchen on Saturday 1st November to host a Sourdough Masterclass in support of our fundraising efforts!
Aidan and Catherine can't wait to share their passion for bread craftsmanship with you! The event will include an approx. 45-minute talk, Q&A for all your baking questions and time at the end to distribute portions of Lovingly Artisan's 35+ year old starter for all attendees.
Come along and learn about why we use ancient grains, how to make and maintain your sourdough starter and how to bake sourdough successfully. Come prepared with a list of questions and your baking challenges!
You will leave with:
- Lovingly Artisan 35+ year old starter
- A collection of notes and a sourdough recipe
- New friends and like-minded baker pals
This masterclass is perfect for breadmakers and foodies of all ages and levels of ability!
During this session, Aidan and Catherine will share why being a true and wholesome artisan matters. It not only impacts the taste of the bread you eat, but more importantly, the impact those bites of bread have on your well-being, gut-health and immunity. Sourdough is far from a fad; it’s a considered lifestyle choice, a choice hundreds of consumers are making. Have you ever wondered why?
Manufactured loaves can make you feel sick, bloated, and tired; Aidan will demystify the differences between sourdough and factory-baked bread - exploring with you the importance of ingredients, wholesome flours and blending seeds and grains with nutritional values in mind.
Join Aidan & Catherine on Saturday 1st November at the Bounceback Food Community Kitchen and leave inspired with a notepad filled with a wealth of information, a portion of Lovingly Artisan's 35+ year old starter and answers on all things sourdough!
Who are we?
Bounceback Food CIC is a social enterprise fighting food poverty on multiple fronts. Since 2014 our Community Cookery School teams have been teaching people how to cook, running food bank drives at market events, helping people get jobs in the food sector and coordinating community meal drives that provide emergency meals for our beneficiaries.
Since 2014 we have taught 12,500+ people how to cook, including stroke survivors, young carers, foodbank beneficiaries and elderly people living in sheltered accommodation. We have also secured 25,000+ donations to food banks and generated over 285,000 meals for people in need via our catering, community meal drives and cookery workshops.
