Low Carbon Heat for Housing Associations

Tuesday 29 January 2019, Glasgow

The way we heat our homes is going to change dramatically in the coming years. Tenants will need the support of housing associations to navigate a range of new choices: from area-wide heat networks to heat pumps drawing warmth from the ground or the air, from biomass boilers to the newest models of electric heating.

Zero Waste Scotland is hosting a workshop in Glasgow on Tuesday 29 January 2019 to help housing associations understand the coming changes in policy and standards around low carbon heat and how these might affect practice in design, procurement, business planning and resident engagement. The workshop is free to attend for social housing providers.

At the workshop, you will have the chance to hear about::

  • Developments towards emerging policy such as Energy Efficiency Scotland
  • How low carbon heat links to energy efficiency standards
  • Delivery of low carbon heat, commercial models and fuel poverty initiatives from Local Energy Scotland, Scottish Futures Trust, Changeworks and Arup
  • Experiences from within the sector, including case studies from Wheatley Group and West Whitlawburn Housing Coop

The session is also designed to help housing associations network and share your experiences.

Book your place by clicking the green Register button towards the top right of this page.

Further workshops are planned for home builders, local authority planners and planning consultants. If you would like to know more about these sessions, please contact Drew Murphy on drew.murphy@zerowastescotland.org.uk.
