About this event
Professional Head Gardener, Tim Hewitt, will guide you through the principles and issues around low maintenance gardening. He will use his experience at a very high maintenance site, the churchyards, to advise you on how to garden more smartly.
We will start by looking at what constitutes high maintenance and how to minimise this.We will consider practical examples and issues and discuss how these might be applied to any garden. Plant choice,timing, fertility, digging, watering and weeding will all come into this. Recommendations for habitat creation and wildlife friendly gardening will also be discussed. We will see how a lot of work needs to go in at first, in order that a low maintenance garden can be achieved.
