Event description
The Low Pay Commission invites FSB members to join a virtual roundtable on the National Minimum Wage, economy and labour market.

About this event

The Low Pay Commission (LPC) are hosting this virtual roundtable with FSB members to support their evidence-gathering on the economy and labour market, in particular the impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak and shutdown.

This is an opportunity for businesses to share their experience with Low Pay Commissioners and directly contribute to the development of LPC's advice on the 2021 National Minimum Wage (NMW) rates. This meeting supports our 2020 consultation.

This session is intended primarily for businesses operating in hospitality sectors. There are separate sessions arranged for businesses in retail sectors and for businesses in hospitality sectors.

In addition to the feedback on the NMW, others areas of particular interest for this year’s consultation are:

• The impact of Covid-19 on businesses and the outlook for employment and pay.

• The effects of recent and future National Living Wage increases.

• The outlook for young workers and apprentices.

Places at each roundtable are limited, but if there is excess demand we will organise further meetings. Please contact us at lpc@lowpay.gov.uk if you have any other questions.

Organiser Low Pay Commission

Organiser of Low Pay Commission roundtable with FSB members

The Low Pay Commission (LPC) is the independent body that advises the Government on the National Living Wage and the National Minimum Wage. We are a social partnership, with Commissioners drawn from bodies representing employers, trade unions and independent experts. Our work is evidence-based and the input from individual employers and workers is an important source for our recommendations to Government.
