Join us for a hands-on Low-Tech Mushroom Growing Workshop, perfect for beginner growers and fungi enthusiasts alike!

In this event, you'll learn how to grow gourmet mushrooms—like oyster, lionsmane and Enoki, by making mushroom fruiting buckets with mushroom spawn. We'll guide you through the entire process: from selecting the right substrate, correct field capacitIes and looking after your mushroom bucket until it successfully grows your mushrooms, ready to harvest.

Each participant will make up their own bucket to take home, along with detailed instructions for continued care and future harvests. No prior experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and wear clothes you don't mind getting a little messy!

After the workshop, enjoy a short guided tour of our farm, where you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at our sustainable growing practices, seasonal produce, and other mushroom cultivation methods. It's a great opportunity to connect a little closer with nature, ask questions, and see where your food begins.

What to Bring: Closed-toe shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, something to eat unless you plan to eat at the Rusty Duck Cafe.

Testimonials:

"Better than expected and learnt so much! Underselling it with how much knowledge was on offer" - Steve

"I had a brilliant time at the mushroom growing workshop with Andy and Sam. They were both incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout the day. The session was hands-on from the start. I got to make my own shiitake logs and came away excited to grow wine caps and oyster mushrooms too.Every question I had was answered clearly and patiently, leaving me confident and ready to get started at home. It was fascinating to see the whole process in action, especially having a look around the lab to understand how everything works from start to finish. The location was lovely, and I really enjoyed rounding the day off with a great coffee at the Rusty Duck café nearby. Highly recommend this workshop to anyone curious about growing their own mushrooms!" - Sarah

"The mushroom growing course was fun and informative; a good range of information, whether you’ve never inoculated anything before or if you’ve been growing for a while I’d say it’s worth a go!" - Owen
