This is the new course designed to provide a certification as a Lowland Rescue First Responder, it builds on existing qualifications such as First Aid to provide skills necessary to support casualities encountered on Search & Rescue operations.
The course meets and exceeds all the learning outcomes for Tier D on the Faculty of Pre Hospital Care framework, as well as the requirements of the Lowland Rescue First Responder certification as detailed in the LR Medical standards document. (click here)
The course is taught by Health Care Professionals who specialise in pre-hospital or trauma medicine.
Note: The course cost is £100 however current grant funding enables us to reimburse teams 80% of the cost for up to 6 places per team making the actual cost £20. Please check with your team whether your will be entitled to this reimbursement.
It is recommended (though not mandatory) that applicants hold an existing first aid (or similar) qualification.
Please note that this course is only open to members of Lowland Rescue teams.
