Lowland Search Planner (previously known as SAR Coordinator)
This course provides a solid foundation for planning the immediate and initial phases of a missing person incident. It is suitable for use as an ALSAR Search Coordinator.
The course is based on the 6 Step Process which is a popular framework for managing search operations and involves classroom time spent learning and undertaking a variety of tabletop exercises to simulate missing person emergencies, all based mainly upon real life incidents from the teams 32 years of operations.
Candidates from ALSAR teams should ideally have good experience of operational searches. The course is also suitable for operational Police Officers who would have responsibility for managing the immediate and initial stages of a missing person search.
The course is based at Easthampstead Park Conference Centre and is taught by Kris Manning and Paul Lewis MBE. (further details below)
A number of operational Search Managers from other teams will be assisting on the course.
ALSAR Teams: The course costs £50 which is payable in advance or at the start of the course.
Non ALSAR: The course costs £100 which is payable in advance or at the start of the course.
The course has residential options for those who require it (please contact us about this) but does not include catering. You will need to bring your own food but you can also partake of the many excellent fast food establishments that surround the Bracknell/Wokingham area.
