Description

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) is hosting a Careers Fair on Tuesday 24 April 2018

LPT provides high quality integrated Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Families Young People and Children's Services and Community Health services based out of sites across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We currently employ around 5,500 staff.

We provide care and support through the following services:

Adult Mental Health and Adult Learning Disability Services covers a wide range of inpatient and community services. Services range from acute inpatient care, acute assessment and home treatment, day care, psychological therapies, community-based mental health care and assertive outreach, day care and prison healthcare, along with locality-based learning disability teams, short break homes, specialist inpatient care, autism and outreach services. We are also a teaching trust, which means we conduct research and provide training and education for medical, psychology, nursing and therapy students. As well as a commitment to delivering high quality care, many of our teams are at the forefront of innovation to improve the health and well-being of the people we support. This ranges from innovations like our award-winning ECT app, our acclaimed mental health triage service, our internationally renowned specialist Huntington's Disease service and ground- breaking projects like My Care My Voice to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities.

Families, Young People and Children's Services provides universal and specialist support including child and adolescent mental health services, health visiting and school nursing, paediatric medicine, nutrition and dietetics services, eating disorder services, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy. We are taking a whole family approach by working between teams across LPT for the benefit of everyone in a family.

Community Health Services includes adult nursing and therapy services and mental health services for older people. We deliver services in inpatient wards, in clinics, and in patients' own homes. Our services include general and stroke rehabilitation, end of life care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, podiatry, falls prevention, and mental health services for older people. We are evolving as part of the national sustainable transformation plan to deliver even more essential healthcare in patients' own homes.

Our Corporate / Enabling Services - work to ensure our clinicians can provide the best services possible. It includes support functions such as Finance, HR, quality and innovation and communications. We are also one of the largest employers of IT staff in Leicester.

At the careers fair we will be recruiting a wide range of different opportunities in the services outlined above, including physical and mental health nursing and healthcare assistants, various admin and clerical roles, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, health visitors, pharmacists, apprentices...and many more.

We offer a range of ways for people to work with us including standard permanent contracts as well as various flexible ways for you to join us. We also offer a wide range of benefits to working with us- you could well be surprised by what’s on offer.

At the last event we received great feedback from people who attended, many of whom have now joined the Trust as valued team members. People enjoyed being able to talk to staff from across LPT’s services to find out more about the different types of roles on offer and how their career could fit in with the services the Trust delivers.

Sarah Willis, Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development, said:

“Please come down and meet us if you are looking for a job in the health service now, or may be in the near future. We have various nursing, clinical and non-clinical job opportunities and we will also be using the event to build our talent pool of the future so come along, register and have a chat with the team”.

We recognise that people may get confused about the different NHS organisations and services within our area, and how they work together- a careers fair like this is a great opportunity for people to find out more about our Trust, the services we deliver and what makes us stand out as an employer from other organisations.

Whether you’re looking for a change, flexible working hours or a start to your career journey, we may have something for you. All the latest information on the careers fair can be found on Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Jobs Facebook page (You can register your interest and confirm your attendance there). You can also follow us @lptjobs Twitter page.

We look forward to meeting you on Tuesday 24th April 2018 between 10am and 6pm, at the Final Whistle, Leicester Tigers Rugby Stadium, Aylestone Road, Leicester, LE2 7TR.
