Come join us for a fun-filled day at the LSCFT Student Event! We are excited to gather at the Grasshoppers Rugby Football Club, located in Preston. It's going to be an amazing opportunity to connect with fellow students and have the opportunity to network with some of our amazing teams across the trust! 🎉

Join us on Tuesday 13th May 2025, when a member of the trust's senior team will open this exciting Student Learning & Careers Event with Lancashire & Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.

This in-person event is a great opportunity for students interested in healthcare to learn about the various career paths available.

You will get the opportunity to participate in informative workshops and presentations with guest speakers that will help you gain a better understanding of what LSCFT has to offer to staff & service users.

Opportunities to learn & meet our teams


We are excited to have various guest speakers at the event to talk about their services and provide learning opportunities! We are also planning to have some individuals with lived experience come to share their journey & experiences with their own mental health/physical health to our students.

At the event, you will have the chance to meet and network with professionals from LSCFT, Including Mental Health inpatient services and teams, Physical Health teams, Networks, AHP teams, Recruitment, Diversity and Inclusion, Safeguarding, Unions, Health & Wellbeing Services & many more!!!

We will also be providing tips & tricks for completing applications for NHS vacancies as well as lots of goodies on the day!


AWARDS:
There will also be the opportunity to nominate for the following award categories on the day:

-Most celebrated Student
-Most celebrated Placement Team

-Most celebrated Practice Educator (practice supervisor/assessor)


These awards will be presented at the end of the day by a member of the senior executive team at LSCFT! 🏆

There may also be some surprise entertainment on the day! 👀

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to attend the whole event?

Yes, the event runs from 9:30-15:30pm and attendance is expected through this whole time period in order to claim the practice hours on your PARE. So please only book a ticket if you can attend the whole day.

Can I come to this event even if I’m supposed to be on shift at placement?

Yes! Please let your practice educator/line manager know about this event and you should be released from placement to attend this event! Attendance at the event also counts as PARE practice hours (if on LSCFT placement)so don’t worry about whether this would mean being behind on any practice hours!

Do I need to wear my student uniform at the event?

There is no requirement to wear your student uniform at this event.

If I am in a placement block at the time, will attending this student event count as practice hours?

Yes, if you are in a placement block at university at the time, attendance throughout the whole duration of the event will count as practice hours on your timesheet on PARE if you are on a LSCFT placement at the time. If you are an LSCFT apprentice, attendance will count as PLT hours.

Is there free parking at the venue?

Yes, there is lots of parking! Once the smaller car park is full, there is an overflow car park to the side with plenty of spaces!
