LSCN Workshop: Stem Cell Models of Drug Discovery and Disease
Overview
In collaboration with STEMCELL Technologies, this workshop will explore how stem cell–based models are reshaping drug discovery and advancing our understanding of human disease.
Featuring talks from Prof. Andrew Beggs (University of Birmingham), Dr. Federica Micheilin (University College London), Dr. Tamas Korcsmaros (Imperial College London), and Dr. Abdullah Khan (University of Oxford), and , the event highlights the latest developments in induced pluripotent stem cell technologies, organoid systems, and other innovative platforms that capture key aspects of human biology. Speakers will discuss how these models illuminate disease mechanisms, improve prediction of therapeutic responses, and refine safety assessment across a range of conditions.
Attendees will gain insight into cutting-edge research, emerging tools, and real-world applications that are accelerating translational science. Designed for students, early-career researchers, and professionals, the workshop offers a clear and accessible overview of how stem cell models are driving innovation in modern biomedical research.
