Event description

Description

Please join us for a tour of the Oceania exhibition where more than 200 compelling works and objects will reveal the richness and originality of the creations of the inhabitants of Oceania.

From James Cook to the 21st century, this spectacular exhibition focuses on the great voyages of discovery and to the unknown. In search of terra australis incognita, what Cook and his crew encountered on arrival is a vast number of island civilisations covering almost a third of the world’s surface.

Discover with the help of our English-speaking guide this rich collection of objects celebrating the original, raw and powerful art from New Zealand, Melanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia, Hawaii and Easter Island, as well as old world maps, models of ships and archives, which will be also on display.
