Celebrate a traditional Sankta Lucia, Festival of Light
For several years the London Nordic Choir has been bringing this Nordic vocal tradition to the British Isles, and this December we welcome you once again to share with us the iconic Scandinavian celebration of Sankta Lucia, The Festival of Light. The evening promises an authentic atmosphere complete with a candlelit shimmering Luciatåg-procession, alongside beloved carols and folk tunes from the English tradition.
Program
The evening’s repertoire naturally gives emphasis to the cherished Lucia songs, and also aims to delight the audience with pieces that evoke feelings of hope and wonder on cold winter nights. Some of these include Phillip Stopford’s arrangement of Lully, Lulla, Lullay which alongside the sumptuous Silent Night by Gene Puerling blend seamlessly into the atmosphere and promise to leave the audience thoroughly inspired. The choir's seasonal favourite Gabriel’s Message in Jonathan Rathbone’s arrangement, ensures that the spirit of the season resounds, elevating this dynamic program into an unforgettable celebration!
