About this event

Our special guest introducing our Autumn lecture series is Professor Giorgio Gianighian. We are fortunate to have this opportunity to welcome a world-renowned architect whose significant heritage work has enriched his field. His topic today is Venetian ‘double houses’, intertwined buildings each with their separate entrance – how appropriate for Ludlow!

Professor Gianighian’s work has included the restoration of the Torre dell’Orologie in Piazza San Marco. He is the Vice Director of the International Research Centre for Architectural Heritage at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and was previously Full Professor of Architectural Heritage at Venice University. An advisor to World Heritage Sites, he has published over 100 works including three books on the history of architecture and restoration.
