About this Event

Lunch and Learn 2019/20

Each year, ChildHope runs a series of monthly seminars on the theories, principles and practices that underpin child protection and work with vulnerable children.

These seminars tap into the wealth of knowledge and skills held within agencies around the world to discuss the practical application of child protection.

The theme for this year’s series will be Safeguarding & Strengthening Practice.

Within this, we intend to explore issues surrounding the implementation of the new DFID regulations, gender & safeguarding, and how to navigate safeguarding when working with international partners.

This seminar will feature Karen Walker-Simpson, Head of Safeguarding at Comic Relief presenting recent research.

Seminar Structure

  • 12:00 -13:00: Seminar - Expert practitioners and academics provide an overview of theories, methodologies and best practice.
  • 13:00 - 13:30: Lunch (provided)
  • 13:30 – 15:00: Facilitated Discussion: Participants will have the opportunity to explore the issues in more depth, to raise questions and to discuss how the learning can be applied to practice.
