About this event

Our Lunch & Learn program encourages you to learn something new within 30 minutes of your time. As the name already explains, these 30 minutes of inspiration takes time during your lunch break. We are busy with an amazing line-up for the coming months and you can expect a monthly lunch & learn session with entrepreneurs, innovators and experts in tech. So grab a sandwich, a cup of coffee and enjoy inspiring stories during your daily grind.

We are very excited to announce this months' speaker: Dr Jenny Cook

Jenny has a Masters and PhD in bioinformatics (computational biology) applied to cancer research and post-doctoral experience from King's College London in the uses of big data in addressing health inequalities. She spent the first part of her career in University settings as a lab based scientist, teaching and researching and has published academic papers and presented at international conferences.

Jenny now works for a large global tech company using data science approaches to improve inclusive practices and workplace equity.

We will talk with Jenny about…

> How Data science is a transferable skill across sectors.

> How applying Data in different environments with diverse competing priorities has been a fascinating experience.

> How data can be used (or weaponized!) to inform decision making, track outcomes or generate impact.

> Jenny would like to share some of the learnings she has gained transitioning into a corporate position and some tips on how to work with your strengths and apply your skill set to a broader range of employment opportunities in tech.
