This light lunchtime session will look at some of the skills needed to have successful conversations with adults who use AAC.

This session is aimed at anyone who has, or wants to have, conversations with adults who use AAC. It maps across to IPAACKS Level Two (please see further information on CASEE Eventbrite profile).


During this session we will:

· Consider what makes a good conversation.

· Discuss skills underpinning good conversations.

· Discuss how conversation partners can support someone with communication difficulties to have a successful conversation.

· Signpost to resources.

· Review CASEE referral process and criteria.


This session will be 1 hour long and delivered on Zoom over lunchtime. Joining details will be sent to the email you register with prior to the session.

The Communication Aid Service East of England is an organisation funded by NHS England and based at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. We provide a service across Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, and Essex offering assessment, provision, support, and advice for people with complex communication needs who may need alternative and augmentative communication systems; their families and the professionals who work with them.
