About The Event
In brain surgery, every millimetre matters. Yet today, surgeons still rely on delayed lab pathology or destructive biopsies to identify tumour tissue. Neurolase changes this.
We’ve built a real-time, AI-powered surgical tool that gives neurosurgeons instant insight into which tissue is cancerous and which is healthy, right in the OR. With over 95% accuracy, our system helps preserve critical brain functions and reduces the need for repeat surgeries.
In this Lunch and Learn, Neurolase co-founders Monika Kott and Dr Babar Vaqas will take you through their journey - from personal inspiration to clinical breakthroughs. You’ll learn how their portable, next-gen medical device is poised to democratise access to safer brain surgery, globally.
Whether you’re in healthtech, medtech, or just curious about surgical innovation, join us to explore how Neurolase is redefining the future of neurosurgery - making it safer, more accurate and accessible.
About The Speakers
Monika Kott and Dr Babar Vaqas
Monika Kott is the CEO and Business Lead of Neurolase, with a background in business, strategy, and fundraising. Dr. Babar Vaqas is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and the system’s Inventor, specialising in complex brain tumour surgeries. The two met a decade ago and bonded over their passion for turning science into solutions. Their shared mission became personal when Babar operated on Monika’s cousin after a suboptimal tumour surgery abroad. That experience drove them to co-found Neurolase, to make safer, more precise neurosurgery accessible to all patients, regardless of geography or income.
