Join us at Portswood Church (SO17 2FY) on Wednesday 3rd September 1pm - 3pm for a light lunch and talk from Clive Beesley and Perry Whitmarsh on Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) and finances.
Here are a few words from Clive and Perry on what you can expect to learn on the day:
LPA are probably the most misunderstood yet essential documents that you should have in place. For example, most people think that because they have joint bank accounts the Finance LPA is not required, this is not true and we will explain why.
We will explain the difference between Finance and Health & Welfare LPA's, the legal requirements of creating them, the significant roles that Attorneys provide and their responsibilities, including identifying a true and legal LPA and Attorney.
We will also explain the role of the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) and what happens if these documents are not in place, and how much it will cost you to at least have 'a say', even if severely restricted.
In this session, Perry will be exploring the key financial planning considerations around estate planning and long-term care. We’ will look at how to protect assets, reduce inheritance tax, and plan effectively for care costs, ensuring peace of mind for you and your loved ones.
