Virginia Wolf, Occupational Therapist

Virginia qualified as physiotherapist in 1981, and then worked for 15 years in a variety of NHS acute and community paediatric settings, followed by 20 years at a charity, the Bobath centre, specialising in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy, and more recently as a Clinical Lead for a community paediatric team in the NHS.

Virginia has been actively involved in training therapists in the assessment and treatment of children with cerebral palsy, and outcome measures including the Gross Motor Function Measure. She is a qualified Paediatric Bobath tutor and has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. She has taught in the Bobath Centres, NHS settings throughout the UK, and also internationally, passing on her skills in developing countries.

She spent a couple of years working in a Kent Hospital before moving to Roehampton to start working in community paediatrics. She moved to the Bobath Centre in London in 2002, where she worked for 22 years treating children and young adults with many varied presentations of cerebral palsy. Marie is passionate about sharing her knowledge and skills through the provision of training courses. She completed a Professional Certificate in Teaching and Learning in 2012, and is a Senior Bobath tutor.

Content

This session is an interactive session based on cases brought by yourself - therapists out in the community, hospitals, rehab centres etc. We will be looking at clinical reasoning and multidisciplinary input for children with CP. Two Bobath Tutors will be there to give their advice and input on the cases with ample oportunity to ask questions and add your ideas.

Please note that this session will not be recorded.

Overview

In this new series of webinars, we invite local therapists to send in cases from their workload that they wish to receive advice, second opinion, or guidance on.

We encourage you to upload photographic material where possible (please provide us with proof of consent from patient or family), so as to enhance the learning experience of all attending. The material will be reviewed by two Bobath Tutors who can answer your clinical questions and guide you on your next step.

If you want to bring a case, please contact us on BABTTSurveys@googlemail.com
