Unconditional Positive Regard: the speakers need to feel accepted and not judged and prized by listeners.
Empathy: speakers need to feel heard and that someone is trying to understand them from the speaker's perspective, and not theirs.
Intention: Listeners need to be authentic/genuine. They are not present as experts. They are not there to judge, diagnose, analyse or label the speaker. Active listening is encouraged - listening with all the senses.

Choice: courage is encouraged but you can exercise shoice and pass or opt out
Connection: notice deeply what unites as well as differences.
Confidentiality: You can share the process but not the content shared.
