Are you or someone you know interested in finding out about fostering?

Scottish Adoption & Fostering is hosting a lunchtime fostering information event on Thursday 22 May from 12:30pm as part of Fostering Fortnight.

Fostering can be a life-changing experience, not only for the child, but for you too. By opening your home, you can provide a safe, stable, and loving environment for a child who needs it most. Many foster carers say it’s one of the most rewarding things they’ve ever done, bringing joy, personal growth, and a deep sense of purpose to their lives.

At our event, you’ll have the chance to:

  • Learn about the process of becoming an approved foster carer
  • Hear about the extensive support Scottish Adoption & Fostering offers all our families
  • Speak directly with an experienced foster carer who can share their personal insights and answer your questions

Whether you're just curious or ready to take the first step, this relaxed and friendly session is a great way to find out more.

If you have any questions about the event, please email david@scottishadoption.org – we’d love to hear from you!

Scottish Adoption was established in 1923 with the aim of delivering a holistic range of high quality placement and adoption services.

Working in partnership with a range of key agencies and organisations, we are committed to delivering a child centred service and strive to build on our reputation as a best value provider in all aspects of service delivery.

Scottish Adoption has built a strong reputation for:

  • Being skilled in what we do – our team are all professionally qualified staff with specific experience in adoption.
  • Being innovative – we are continually researching and developing new approaches to meet the changing needs of our service users.
  • Looking after people every step of the way – our commitment is to support all our adopted children and families for however long and whenever this is needed.

We are a national organisation delivering adoption services in Scotland. At present the bulk of our services are delivered across Edinburgh & Lothians through Service Level Agreements with local authorities within the area, along with a range of inter-agency work with organisations in other parts of Scotland.

People using our services often comment on the caring and personal service they receive and our last Inspection Report by the Care Inspectorate said:

"We assessed that there was outstanding evidence of the adoption agency supporting positive outcomes for children and their adoptive families.."
