Biographies:

Passionate about connecting with audience members from all backgrounds, the Cordelia Quartet has established itself as a versatile ensemble capable of performing repertoire from a diverse array of periods and genres. The group comprises postgraduate and undergraduate students from the Royal College of Music who hail from four different countries in North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Since making its concert debut at the Royal College of Music Museum in February of 2025, the group has performed at St. Mary Abbots Church in Kensington, St. James’s Church in Piccadilly, and St. Paul’s Church in Bedford. Seeking to reach audiences throughout London, the quartet has upcoming engagements scheduled at the Westminster Music Library, the Burgh House in Hampstead, St. John’s Church in Fulham, St. George’s Church, Hanover Square, and St. James’s Sussex Gardens in Paddington. At the College, the quartet receives regular coaching from Simon Rowland-Jones, Ben Hancox (Sacconi Quartet), Paul Cassidy (Brodsky Quartet) and Jessie Richardson (Piatti Quartet). The name of the quartet is in dedication to the youngest daughter of Shakespeare’s King Lear, a strong female character of conviction and magnanimity of spirit.
