Biographies

Rebekah Dickinson

Rebekah Dickinson is a British violist. She began studying the viola at the age of 6 with the Guernsey Music Service, before winning a scholarship to study at Wells Cathedral School under the tutelage of Matthew Souter and Roger Chase. In 2018, Rebekah graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, London, where she had been studying with Paul Silverthorne. After a brief stint in Italy, Rebekah returned to the UK and is currently coming to the end of her master’s studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Sarah-Jane Bradley.

Rebekah is a committed orchestral and chamber musician. She has played in orchestras such as the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, BBC Proms Youth Ensemble for the Last Night of the Proms 2016, the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra, and is currently principal viola of the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra. She is also a member of The Lyra Trio, a flute, harp, and viola trio, and often plays in a duo with pianist Tiffany Qiu. Rebekah has given solo recitals around the world, including Hawaii, Italy, Guernsey, and the UK, and has been featured on RAI Südtirol and NRP Hawaii.

When not practicing the viola, Rebekah can be found tending the garden or walking in the hills around her family’s home on the Isle of Skye.

Tiffany Qiu

Born in 2001 in Ireland to Chinese parents, Tiffany Qiu is an award-winning musician, pianist, writer and passionate educator.As a soloist, Tiffany has appeared with orchestras under the batons of Uri Segal, Paolo Ponziano Ciardi, James Cavanagh and Finghin Collins. She has also enjoyed performing in venues such as the Basilica di San Pietro (Italy) and Carnegie Hall (with the New York Sinfonietta). In London, Tiffany has been invited to perform at the Brazilian Embassy of London as part of their National Day concert celebration, the Princess Alexandra Hall in the Royal Over-Seas League, the Embassy of Ireland, the Westminster Music Library and the Lake District Music Festival.Tiffany graduated with First Class Honours from the prestigious Royal Academy of Music London in 2023 where she was awarded a merit-based entrance scholarship to study with Professors Ian Fountain (piano), Michael Dussek (chamber music) and Dr Ruth Byrchmore (composition), generously sponsored by the Winifred Christie Trust and the Alfred Knight Award. She served as their Students’ Union President and a trustee between 2023-25, and was awarded the Andrew S Sykes Award for her studentship and contribution to the conservatoire.
