About this event

Arts • Fine Art

Over the past ten years Sheffield’s art collection has grown significantly, showcasing artistic excellence and reflecting the world we live in today. Through the acquisition of remarkable works by artists such as Frank Auerbach, Lubna Chowdhary, Kedisha Coakley, Yuen Fong Ling, Ronald Moody, Grayson Perry and Bridget Riley, the collection has flourished – ensuring it remains a powerful, relevant and inspiring resource for the city.

Join Sian Brown, Head of Collections and Elizabeth Lindley, Assistant Curator of Visual Art, to discover how the collection has developed over recent years, learn about the crucial role of organisations such as the Contemporary Art Society, and hear about how the city’s art collection will continue to grow into the future.

The growth of Sheffield’s collection has only been possible thanks to the generosity of artists and collectors who have donated artworks, and the vital support of funders who have supported key acquisitions.
