About this event

Speaker: Nikki Baker – Keswick Swifts

“The sky over Keswick used to be black with Swifts” – that’s what some older residents remember. Thankfully, we still have a significant number of these iconic birds coming back from Africa each summer to raise a brood of youngsters, but their numbers are dramatically reduced – less than 20% of what they were. So why is this happening, and what can we do about it? Fortunately, the tide may be turning again in this town, thanks to the efforts of an ever-increasing number of residents.

1pm in the museum's Crosthwaite Room.
