About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

In 1875, Sheffield Public Museum (as it was then officially known) opened its doors to the people of Sheffield for the first time. In this talk, you’ll discover the people and organisations who were integral to establishing Sheffield’s first public museum. You’ll see how the original building, which was converted from a private house, Weston Hall, looked very different to the museum we know today.

Part of a programme of displays, events and activities celebrating 150 years of Weston Park Museum in 2025.
