About this event

From Theory To Praxis, a webinar presentation giving a brief overview of the colonial history of climate, an overview of how this influences Joycelyn's academic work, as well as how she communicates the climate emergency through Climate In Colour.

The talk then moves on to explore how we as individuals, companies, and organisations can move away from just talking about oppression to embedding decolonial practice into their lives and work.

About Joycelyn

Joycelyn Longdon is an MRes and PhD student at Cambridge University using AI to address the climate emergency, her research will focus on co-creating monitoring technologies with indigenous communities for forest conservation.

She is also the Founder of Climate in Colour, an online education platform and community for the climate curious, making climate conversations more accessible and diverse.

Lunchtime talks

This is part of a series of 60 minute webinars and discussions for Friends of the Earth staff, local group members and Climate Action Group activists. These talks are designed to stimulate thinking and increase awareness of different approaches to campaigning and the issues other campaigns are tackling.

They might not always be directly related to our core campaigns at Friends of the Earth. They might not even be at lunchtime! But they will give us food for thought more broadly about challenges and opportunities facing the environmental movement.

During this webinar we will use:

  • Powerpoint

Please let us know via the booking form if you have any accessibility requirements and if booking the session is difficult for you get in touch with us on community@foe.co.uk for help.
