This special edition of our Leeds University Network for Sustainability in Higher Education (LUNSHE) welcomes speakers and attendees from the university members of the Yorkshire Universities group.
LUNSHE was established in May 2023, and has flourished as a multidisciplinary group for sharing approaches, challenges and opportunities for embedding sustainability in the curriculum and student opportunities. LUNSHE welcomes staff from all academic and service areas and includes members with considerable experience in this area through to those taking their initial steps and beginning to explore ideas. This community was recently highlighted in the UN SDG Accord report as an example of ‘partnership for the goals’ (page 27).
LUNSHE is part of a programme of work that contributes to our ambitious Climate Plan. As part of this our Sustainable Curriculum principle commits to give all students the opportunity to engage in sustainability through their course, community, now and into the future.
As part of our Sustainable Curriculum programme we work in partnership with institutions from the Yorkshire Universities group on the annual Student Sustainability Research Conference – a flagship event for showcasing regional student sustainability talent.
In our special LUNSHE event we will turn the focus on the achievements of educators and teams from Yorkshire based universities. Through case studies and discussion, we will explore and share ways to embed sustainability within the curriculum and wider student experience – and what we are learning along the way!
This LUNSHE will be a hybrid event, with hot drinks and sweet treats served (vegan and gluten free options available).
When you purchase a ticket, you will be prompted on whether you will be attending in person or online.
(Event exclusively for representatives from member universities of the Yorkshire Universities group)
