About this Event
UPDATE: With effect from Monday 22 February, study slots at LUU Common Ground will only be made available 48 hours before the study session to improve access study space access for students.
About this Event
During the current lockdown from 6 January 20201, LUU will remain open for essential services and will also be accommodating a limited number of study spaces for University of Leeds students in some of our spaces. Please limit your number of bookings to a maximum of 1 slot per day and no more than 2 per week to allow others access to this space.
Please use the University’s coronavirus testing facility regularly if you use our study space.
Further details on-campus requirements and how to book an asymptomatic test are available at the University's coronavirus website
For the period of the national restrictions, government guidance advises that face coverings should be worn in LUU at all times. This means you must now wear your mask while studying, as well as when you enter and move around the Union.
Studying at LUU Common Ground.
Spaces are available for silent individual study only.
The study space you book will be yours for the full duration of your booking, you may enter and leave at any time during your session but please do let our staff know when you leave so that we can re-assign your space to any walk-ins.
Please limit your bookings to two sessions per week - further dates will be added on a daily basis.
We will confirm your booking by email or QR scanners – please bring your booking confirmation as a PDF or use the Eventbrite app for us to scan you in on your arrival.
You must stay at your allocated study space - seats are assigned ahead of time so moving desks means you may be taking a space from another user. There may also be track and trace implications.
Please stay at home if you are displaying any coronavirus symptoms.
Face masks are required at all times inside LUU.
When you arrive
Show your booking confirmation and Student ID card to a member of staff. They will provide you with a desk number and direct you to your seat.
Study spaces are clearly numbered – please use your assigned study space only.
Please help us keep everyone safe by following these measures:
Wear a face covering at all times inside the LUU building, unless you are exempt. This means face coverings must be worn while you study, as well as when entering, exiting and moving around in the Union.
Use the clearly marked areas and floor markings to navigate around the building
Study spaces have been marked in line with current social distancing guidelines, only use the desk you are assigned
Use the sanitisation stations throughout the space
Clean your study desk before and after you use it and put the used wipes in the general waste bin
Take all your belongings with you when you have finished
Wash your hands regularly
Cancelling
Please cancel your booking if you no longer need the space, so that it can be used by someone else. You can do this by logging onto your Eventbrite profile and then cancel your booking.
