LWA National Woodland Gathering 2022
Event Information
About this event
The LWA's Woody Branch warmly invites you to its National Woodland Gathering 2022 in Devon!
An opportunity for woodland workers to meet and catch-up, learn and share the tools, woes and wonders of their work and forestry nationwide, and engage in building a truly member-led movement.
Come along and meet other fellow members and foresters from around the island! We'll see whats happening at the Hillyfield Woodland Farm, workshop what is currently happening in the LWA Woody Branch, and strategise the future of our movement- all between consuming good food and beer around the fire.
After two years of postponing it's finally happening! This is a two day event (Sat + Sun) with camping available from Friday night (May 6th).
The ticket includes:
- 2 nights camping (Fri + Sat)
- 2 x Lunches and 1x dinner (meat and vegan options; BYO brekky)
- Walks, talks, workshops and fun!
- Spring fed lake for wild-swimming and a wood-fired sauna which will be fired up each morning and night
Hillyfield can also offer 5m bell tents for hire - £80 per night - please contact Doug directly. Also any van dwellers please let Doug know so he can gauge numbers (contact details in eventbrite confirmation email).
We've tried to make the ticket as affordable as possible, but knowing how low income woodland work can be we have a limited number of bursary tickets available - please email olly.craigan@landworkersalliance.org.uk
If the travel to Devon deters you from coming. we want to know! We may be able to help - again email Olly C (email above) - we want you there.
Not an LWA member? You are welcome too! Though if you are a land worker and want to take advantage of membership benefits (including a cheaper ticket!) then sign up here
More details to come once you've bought your tickets. Cant wait to see you all!
The LWA's Woody Branch is the forestry sector of the Landworkers' Alliance: a union of farmers, growers, foresters and land-based workers on a mission to improve the livelihoods of our members and create a better land-use system for everyone.
