About this event
Anyone fancy a road trip?!
Join LW&D Brum on a trip to see British Art Show 9 in Wolverhampton on the morning of Saturday 26 March.
The British Art Show is a landmark touring exhibition that celebrates the vitality of recent art made in Britain. Organised every five years by Hayward Gallery Touring the exhibition brings the work of artists defining new directions in contemporary art to four cities across the UK. British Art Show 9 explores three overarching themes – healing, care and reparative history; tactics for togetherness; and imagining new futures.
We’ll be meeting at Wolverhampton Train Station at 11am and then together we’ll walk over to Wolverhampton School of Art where Head of School Maggie Ayliffe will give us an introduction to the exhibition on show here, including pieces by Caroline Walker, Abigail Reynolds and Mandy El-Sayegh.
Then a 5 minute stroll will take us to Wolverhampton Art Gallery to experience the other half of the show which features Helen Cammock, Grace Ndiritu and Florence Peake amongst other leading artists.
We’ll end the morning with a cuppa or bite to eat in the Gallery café 😊
The event welcomes those who define themselves as a woman (trans, intersex and cis) and all nonbinary, agender and gender variant people. The walking route around Wolverhampton is fully accessible. Please RSVP so we have an idea of numbers and can send you an update before the day to let you know where we’ll meet you in Wolverhampton Train Station.
See you there!
