This will be LWE's fifth year visiting Galway for the Cúirt International Festival of Literature (20-25 April 2020). Cúirt have put together a fantastic festival programme, which includes: Kate Tempest, Anne Enright, Kevin Barry, Simon Armitage, Eimear McBride, Sara Baume, Pat McCabe, Rob Doyle, Carolyn Forché, Elaine Feeney, Alan McMonagle, Doireann Ní Ghríofa, Jan Carson, Mary Costello and many more.

Link to website and full festival programme: http://www.cuirt.ie/

Those travelling from London will be invited to participate in London Writers Eclective Presents… at the Black Gate Cultural Centre on Saturday 25 April.

There is no charge but please register at this link so we can plan events and keep writers informed of special offers etc.

LWE writers can avail of 15% discount on all tickets (discount code will be emailed when you register).

There will be a reception for LWE writers on Saturday 25 April.

LWE writers will be offered discounted writing workshops/private readings. As always in Galway, there will be numerous free events, distractions and shenanigans.

Travel

Flights are cheap at the moment, with many planning to arrive on Thurs morning (23 April) and depart on Sun/Mon (26/27 April). It is a busy weekend so all should book flights asap.

London to either Shannon or Dublin. Ryanair are normally the most reasonable but worth checking with Aer Lingus and City Jet as well.

Dublin is a 3hr bus journey (some services are 2.5hrs). Shannon under 2 hrs (aside from occasional express services, which are 1 hr).

Dublin Airport to Galway: www.citylink.ie www.gobus.ie (buses every 30 mins)

Shannon Airport to Galway: www.buseireann.ie (buses every hour)

Accommodation

Accommodation to suit all budgets in Galway. Anywhere around the city is good as all events are within walking distance of one another. Galway city centre is about the size of Covent Garden.

Quite a few used airbnb.com last year but there are numerous options online so worth shopping around. Stay within a mile of the city centre to avoid the need for taxis/public transport. Salthill is a good option for any who enjoy seaside walks.
