The Camp will take place online from 10am to 12 am Monday to Friday and is open to children between the ages 12 to 17.

IMPORTANT: An Android mobile phone and iPad will be provided to participants in advance of the camp. A €100 refundable deposit will be required and this deposit will be refunded once the phone and iPad have been returned to the event organisers. The event organisers will arrange collection and return of devices, which will take place in the Letterkenny area. As this is an online camp access to broadband /internet is required.

The camp will teach the children how to write code in Swift, which is the programming language for all IoS (Apple) devices, they will do this using an application called Swift Playgrounds. Students learn logic and coding fundamentals through gamification - solving puzzles by writing code to tell a character in a maze based game how to navigate through different problems.

We will also do some visual programming using an application called MIT App Inventor, this block-based coding tool allows the students to create and deploy applications onto Android mobile devices. The students will write code to interact with sensors and applications on Android phones.

Finally we will introduce the children to a programming language called Python. Python is a high-level, object-oriented programming language. Here, students will take the coding fundamentals they have learned in Swift and App Inventor and apply them when writing in a fully-fledged programming environment.
