To celebrate the re-release of cult classic The Course of the Heart, M. John Harrison comes to Foyles for an evening of conversation with H is for Hawk author Helen Macdonald.

In The Course of the Heart, M. John Harrison skilfully traces the stories of three Cambridge alumni connected by a ritualistic act in their student days that has altered each of their lives in strange and moving ways. Dreamlike and hugely absorbing, this is a cult classic written on the margins of reality by a master storyteller.

M. John Harrison is the author of, among others, the Viriconium stories, The Centauri Device, Climbers, The Course of the Heart, The Sunken Land Begins to Rise Again, Signs of Life, Light and Nova Swing. He has won the Boardman Tasker Prize, the James Tiptree Jr Award, the Arthur C. Clarke Award and the Goldsmiths Prize. He lives in Shropshire.

Helen Macdonald is a writer, poet, naturalist and historian of science. Their books include H is for Hawk, which won many prizes including the Costa Book of the Year and the Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction, and the Sunday Times bestselling Vesper Flights. They live in Suffolk with their two parrots.

The event will be followed by an audience Q&A. Your ticket includes a complimentary glass of wine.
