Event description

Description

20 April 2018

The Berril Lecture Theatre, The Open University, Walton Hall, Milton Keynes

11am-430pm (with coffee served from 1030am)

The MA Art History study day will be an opportunity for current A843 and A844 students to attend a full-day event where sessions will address a wide range of themes, including, skills of visual analysis, preparing for the EMA/dissertation, and related module content. It is also an opportunity to meet some of the authors of the MA module materials.

The study day will enable students to identify and develop research skills relevant to A843 and A844. It will introduce elements of Art Historical professional practice to help develop students’ own standpoints and provide a venue (physical and online) to further foster an OU community and a wider postgraduate and research culture. Students who will not be able to attend in person will still be able to participate through an online forum. In addition, slides and information sheets will also be uploaded.

Further information and a detailed programme will be circulated closer to the time. There is no fee to attend. Coffee and tea will be served on arrival but lunch will not be provided—but there is a canteen on campus.

Information on how to reach the OU can be found here: http://www.open.ac.uk/about/estates/travel-advice/directions-walton-hall-campus

Registration will close at 18.00 on Wednesday 11th April, 2018
