Wimbledon College of Arts, Merton Hall Rd, London SW19 3QA
This September the first cohort of the new MA Costume course at Wimbledon College of Arts will be showcasing their work. The display will centre on a range of costumes created for stage, screen and display, including pieces commissioned by Glyndebourne Opera House for an exhibition this autumn.
Each costume will be accompanied by research portfolios documenting the research, experimentation and specialist skills underpinning its creation. Students will also contextualise and animate their work using film, digital projection, lighting and sound.
On the opening day of the showcase visitors will be able to discover more about how and where the costumes were created by signing up for a range of campus tours (including 3D labs and Costume Studios), discover some of the wonderful costumes and dress in their Teaching Collection and participate in workshops led by their Specialist Technicians.
Entry to the Showcase is free of charge and it will be open to the public between 10.30am and 4.30pm.
Tickets for the tours and workshops will also be free, but numbers will be capped.
For further information about the Showcase and related events please contact the MA Costume Subject Leader: Dr Veronica Isaac, Subject Leader, MA Costume, v.isaac@arts.ac.uk
