Have fun creating beautiful knitwear over a four week course. Emphasis is on colour and form. You will explore the use of machine knit stitches and construction techniques.

Each session will cover a range of techniques below.  By the end of the 4 week course you will have finished a small project of your choice and learnt a range of skills including pattern making and finishing on your knitting machine.

Choose a project - Socks, Scarves, Hats, Mittens, Jumper/Cardigan, Childrens Knits, Pet knits, Soft Toys etc

Gauge and tension.

Colour palette. Yarn selection.

Techniques and knitting.

Cast on. Provisional cast on.

Creating fabric from yarn.

Plain knitting.

Patterns inc. colourwork/fairisle, textured knitting, lace.

Creating texture.

Stitch Techniques. Plain, purl, moss stitch, lace, cable, other stitches.

Edges.

Casting off.

Finishing techniques.

Critique your work.

Evaluate your progress.

Cost: £99.00 for four sessions.  Sessions are: Monday 10am-12pm or by negotiation. Please confirm availability via Jo.
