Over a century ago the ribbon was cut on one of the engineering marvels of the world: the Panama Canal. Dividing a country to connect oceans, the canal revolutionised shipping and involved a colourful cast of characters including Teddy Roosevelt, mosquitos and the French government. Join Leanne O’Boyle to hear about the construction of one of the wonders of the modern world. Leanne has lectured on the Panama Canal for the cruise industry and has been through the locks 17 times.
