The annual Hope Against Cancer gala has been organised in South- West London to raise funds and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event will take place on Saturday 12th November 2016 at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel and has been organised by Faz Zia, a Macmillan supporter who has received a Leadership award for raising cancer awareness in the Asian community.
All the funds raised will be used by Macmillan to fund vital cancer services for people affected by cancer, from specialist cancer nurses to grants for cancer patients facing financial difficulty.
Macmillan’s London fundraising manager, Noriko Homma, said: "Sadly the number of people being diagnosed with cancer is increasing every year and that means Macmillan’s support for people living with cancer is in more demand than ever."
"No one should have to face cancer alone and events like this help us be there for people cancer and their family when they need us most."
About Macmillan Cancer Support:
More than one in three of us will get cancer. For most of us it will be the toughest fight we ever face. And the feelings of isolation and loneliness that so many people experience make it even harder.
But you don’t have to go through it alone. The Macmillan team is with you every step of the way.
We are the nurses and therapists helping you through treatment. The experts on the end of the phone. The advisers telling you which benefits you’re entitled to. The volunteers giving you a hand with the everyday things. The campaigners improving cancer care. The community there for you online, any time. The supporters who make it all possible.
Together, we are all Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event will include:
- Talk from Macmillan and their supports
- Live entertainment
- Raffel and silent auction
- DJ and after party
