Made in Chelsea
Mon, October 31, 2016, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM GMT
Chelsea has long been associated with writers, and there are so many fascinating stories to be told.
In this walk, we will hear about the writers of works which range from Mary Poppins to Dracula. We will hear about Sir Thomas More's Utopia and what Oscar Wilde said when he saw actress Ellen Terry come for her portrait to be painted by John Singer Sargent. Then there are the cautionary tales of two different libel cases which turned out rather badly for the libelled party. And what happened to the book of poetry buried with the writer's dead wife.
