About this Event

A STORY OF COMING OUT. As a WOMBAN. Scared of the vulnerabilty of feminity suppressed my wild power. This is a story about coming out of the system and coming out as myself and coming out with the radical choices I have made in life. I am tired of the bullshit oppression of the MOTHER in our world. MOTHER is not what is sold to us in baby magazines, MOTHER is way beyond that. MOTHER MEDICINE is the medicine we need to repair the rupture. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MOTHER TO BUY A TICKET. Thirsty for more, read on. Sold by this hit the buy button.

SOPHIE. An Artist who is unrecognised, uncensored, unf**king sponsored, does not have an extensive list of exhibitions (let's be honest; one, my final degree show, I did get a First though with no formal art quals), has about 200 followers on Instagram, rarely gets likes on her Facebook page (blame it on the algorithm), got a U for A'level Philosophy, a business pretty much in tatters, doesn't have a podcast, hasn't written a book, didn't make it as a weather girl or children's TV presenter, her only TV apperance was Top of the Pops (as an audience member) swaying to Rik Waller.

While studying Fine Art she was told; do not become a mother, you won't make it in the art world. Two kids down and not a whiff of the Art World elite knocking at the door. 2020 saw SOPHIE take matters into her own hands; making a promise with her WOMB; to create every artwork which channeled, so she did!

It has seen her collaborate with flies, wash her hands with her period blood, marry herself, have an affinity with a spatula, throw a rolling pin and sit outside the Tate Modern in a period blood stained 1950's Step ford wives dress.

With nothing to lose SOPHIE remembered what she is good at; storytelling, art, quiet rebellion, non-academic philosophy, shining a light on herself, sitting and contemplating (with a cup of tea and a chocolate digestive, gottat be the dark choccie ones) she thought; 'I know I will tell my story.'

Made in Womb is a story of coming out; From airing cupboard to The National Gallery.

This is a vagina tingler of a talk is about self belief, a story to make you feel and remember who you were before SAT's, GCSE'S, A'levels and a wage slave. You have the power to be who you were born to be. You grew your heart without a text book and a tick box, NOW imagine what else you can do.

Be the change you seek to see.

This is a virtual show, because at the time of writing this you can only meet in groups over 6 if you are a grouse shooting party. You are invited to make your viewing experience as much of a theatre experience as possible. If you are a shooting party of 6 watching this together I do ask you each buy a ticket.

**No my PR agent didn't write this up, I AM my PR agent.**
